Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday is a special day and I always try and go to a remembrance service. This year it was Tunbridge Wells. Somewhat smaller than the service up at the Cenotaph on Whitehall but no worse for that. Everyone was terribly well behaved and for just a few minutes there was a connection between everyone standing in front of the memorial. That only lasted until the local MP (Greg Clark) and the 'civil' representatives where ushered away before the march past. Why don't they stand and watch with the rest of us? I suppose they are too delicate to stand shoulder to shoulder with real people, after all who knows what someone might say to them if they had to mix with those who had truly served their country.
